GQ house ads, 2012

I conceptualized some new filler ads promoting GQ's digital/tablet/social extensions, as well as the new gq.com/promotions tab on gq.com.

The type-driven page above has the used/vintage look as a result of acetate.
It was really fun to create!

GQ Holiday Card, 2011

The publisher wanted a vintage-looking card of a man on the slopes in a tux. I was inspired by old ski posters to make this illustration. The color palette really made the card pop.

GQ loves paper! We're often printing letterpress or offset invitations for
events.

GQ Advertorials on tablet, 2011-

These are just a few examples of custom hybrids that have run in print reformatted for the iPad. We are also designing units for the 7" Kindle Fire.

GQ Custom Hybrids, 2011-

Part of my job at GQ is to come up with concepts for advertisers to buy into the magazine. We design pages that vary from basic laydown shots to big custom muti-page sections that require a bigger photoshoot with models and celebrities.

GQ Design Group (GQDG) prides itself
on delivering high quality original photography and 360 degree programs that often include event, digital, and social extensions. These are just a few examples of sections that have been
done for advertisers. My team is involved from the brainstorm all the way to the production.

GQ at Park & Bond Logo, 2011

I had to combine the GQ and Park &
Bond logos to create an identity for the
GQ Pop-Up shop in the meatpacking.
The "at" was drawn by hand, scanned and vectorized.

Fun fact: I got a call asking for the "at" font. I had to tell them those were the
only two letters that existed from that
font because I drew them by hand.

After developing the identity for this
pop-up shop, the logo was used on the
t-shirts, invitations, screens, decals,
tote bags etc.

GQ E-blasts, 2011-

These are some examples of e-blasts
that I've worked on for GQ. We do
a lot of blasts for advertisers, retail events, sweepstakes, and in-house events.

Often, my designers work on these
blasts and I'll direct them on the
hierarchy of information, rewording
the copy, use of imagery etc. We usually have some limitations too since the blasts have to get coded, and that
means only being able to use certain
web safe fonts. If the e-vite is just for internal use, we are able to be more creative with type.

GQDG Website, 2011

Before starting my GQ job, I was hired from the GQ Design Group to build their portfolio site. This site, which is often used by Sales Reps to pitch to potential clients, enables you to browse the sections, download high res pdfs, get information about the sections (client / talent / photographer / date) and search using keywords.

I built this site in Wordpress so that the team can update it easily as sections get wrapped up.
