House of Cards Infographic, 2014

I conceptualized and designed this infographic for Netflix. The graphic ran
as an advertorial in GQ's March 2014 issue, and my designers Reid Rutledge and Elizabeth Johnson definitely helped throughout the process.

This page was actually referred to as the "ad of the future". Tune into Morning Joe from February 25, 2014 to hear more!

One of my favorite projects in a while!

GQ in Nashville, 2013

I designed the collateral for GQ's National Sales Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.

GQ Superbrand, 2013

I designed the branding and e-blasts
for the GQ International Sales Meeting
in May 2013. We decided to go with a Superbrand theme... good timing with
the 'Man of Steel' movie premiere!

GQ Derby Style, 2013

I worked on the collateral for the GQ
Derby Style party in Louisville in May 2013. It was a challenge because I
never saw the space in person so was working off of pictures and blueprints. Heard it was a success though!

GQ Holiday Card, 2012

We decided to keep the holiday card
type-driven this year. It was printed on
a heavy stock and the color had a
vintage edge.

GQ & Nordstrom Men's Shop, 2012

In September 2012, GQ and Nordstrom launched the second annual GQ Pop-up Store. Located at Treasure & Bond— Nordstrom’s concept store in SoHo, New York—the shop brought the service and style authority of GQ to life at the height of Fashion Week. The shop featured an editorially curated selection of products, including everything from clothing and electronics to accessories and gadgets.

Celebrities attended Fashion's Night Out event such as Michael Bastian, Darren Criss, Gabriel Mann, Joshua Bowman, Chris Bosh, Bryan Greenberg, Aziz Ansari, Jamie Chung, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo etc.

The logo's ampersand is my handwriting scanned and fixed up in illustrator.

GQ Live! app, 2012

GQ Live is now available for download
on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Go to the AppStore or Google Play and watch the September 2012 issue of GQ come to life!

App is powered by Aurasma. I designed the icon and promotional materials, and project managed this entire project--with definite help from several people for chasing down assets, managing IOs, developing the app and building the auras.

GQ Live ad in WWD, 2012

The first GQ Live ad goes to print in
WWD. I created the identity and conceptualized as well as designed
the ad.

App will be available August 21. Get excited!

GQ house ads, 2012

I conceptualized some new filler ads promoting GQ's digital/tablet/social extensions, as well as the new tab on

The type-driven page above has the used/vintage look as a result of acetate.
It was really fun to create!

GQ Holiday Card, 2011

The publisher wanted a vintage-looking card of a man on the slopes in a tux. I was inspired by old ski posters to make this illustration. The color palette really made the card pop.

GQ Advertorials on tablet, 2011-

These are just a few examples of custom hybrids that have run in print reformatted for the iPad. We are also designing units for the 7" Kindle Fire.

GQ Custom Hybrids, 2011-

Part of my job at GQ is to come up with concepts for advertisers to buy into the magazine. We design pages that vary from basic laydown shots to big custom muti-page sections that require a bigger photoshoot with models and celebrities.

GQ Design Group (GQDG) prides itself
on delivering high quality original photography and 360 degree programs that often include event, digital, and social extensions. These are just a few examples of sections that have been
done for advertisers. My team is involved from the brainstorm all the way to the production.

GQ at Park & Bond Logo, 2011

I had to combine the GQ and Park &
Bond logos to create an identity for the
GQ Pop-Up shop in the meatpacking.
The "at" was drawn by hand, scanned and vectorized.

Fun fact: I got a call asking for the "at" font. I had to tell them those were the
only two letters that existed from that
font because I drew them by hand.

GQ at Park & Bond Shop, 2011

After developing the identity for this
pop-up shop, the logo was used on the
t-shirts, invitations, screens, decals,
tote bags etc.

GQ E-blasts, 2011-

These are some examples of e-blasts
that I've worked on for GQ. We do
a lot of blasts for advertisers, retail events, sweepstakes, and in-house events.

Often, my designers work on these
blasts and I'll direct them on the
hierarchy of information, rewording
the copy, use of imagery etc. We usually have some limitations too since the blasts have to get coded, and that
means only being able to use certain
web safe fonts. If the e-vite is just for internal use, we are able to be more creative with type.

GQDG Website, 2011

Before starting my GQ job, I was hired from the GQ Design Group to build their portfolio site. This site, which is often used by Sales Reps to pitch to potential clients, enables you to browse the sections, download high res pdfs, get information about the sections (client / talent / photographer / date) and search using keywords.

I built this site in Wordpress so that the team can update it easily as sections get wrapped up.
